Ministers Inspect Flood Damage in Karak, Stress Need for Root Solutions to Climate Change Impacts

The Minister of Public Works and Housing, Engineer Maher Abu Al-Samen; the Minister of Interior, Mazen Al-Faraya; and the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Emad Hijazeen, conducted an extensive field tour in Karak Governorate to assess damage caused by the recent flash floods.

The tour began at the Karak Governorate headquarters, where officials delivered a detailed briefing on the challenges faced by field teams.

Minister Abu Al-Samen commended the efforts of emergency teams and announced the immediate launch of technical studies to reconstruct damaged sites.

Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya underscored the critical importance of sustained coordination among security and civil agencies.

Tourism and Antiquities Minister, Dr. Emad Hijazeen, stressed the need for a comprehensive solution to the collapse that affected part of the historic Wall of Karak Castle.

The ministers inspected the Karak Gate Project site and directed that an integrated engineering study be conducted.

At the conclusion of the tour, Minister Abu Al-Samen inspected the extent of damage on the Al-Kharza Road, directing teams to implement immediate remedial measures.
