Ministers of Public Works and Tourism Discuss Developing Heritage Sites and Establishing Specialized Training Center in Salt

The Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maher Abu Al-Samen, and the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Emad Hijazeen, met with the Governor of Balqa, Faisal Al-Masaeed, and the Head of the Salt Municipality Committee, Ali Al-Batayneh. The meeting was held in the presence of MPs Suleiman Al-Kharabsheh, Jamal Qamo, and Hakem Al-Ma’adat, as well as the Director of the Salt Development Corporation, Khaldoun Khraisat, to discuss ways to develop several tourist and heritage sites in the city of Salt.

The meeting included discussions on preserving the city’s historic architectural identity.

The ministers also explored a proposal to create a specialized training center, emphasizing the need to enhance the capabilities of engineers and designers in dealing with architectural heritage.

Following the meeting, officials conducted a field tour, visiting the Uqba ibn Nafi Visitor Center in Salt to review tourism service facilities. They also visited a heritage house proposed for conversion into a training center to assess its potential as an educational hub.
