Ministry and Tourism Agents Reaffirm Commitment to Economic Modernization Vision & National Tourism Strategy
Amman, Jordan – The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents (JSTA) have reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the Economic Modernization Vision and the National Tourism Strategy.
During a meeting, both parties described the frameworks as essential roadmaps for advancing Jordan's tourism sector and strengthening its role as a key driver of the national economy.
The discussions come at a critical time, as the sector navigates mounting challenges—most notably regional geopolitical tensions and their direct impact on tourist movement and key source markets.
During the meeting, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Imad Hijazin, and JSTA representatives addressed key issues related to tourism market regulation.
The discussion also focused on religious tourism and Umrah trips, as well as procedural challenges currently facing companies and workers in the sector.
Both sides stressed the importance of expanding into new tourism markets and enhancing Jordan's tourism offerings, with particular emphasis on religious and medical tourism. These segments were highlighted for their strong potential to increase visitor numbers and support long-term, sustainable growth.
Looking ahead, the Ministry and JSTA affirmed that the upcoming phase demands closer collaboration to produce clear, actionable decisions. Such efforts, they noted, are essential to translating national strategies into tangible results that benefit the tourism sector and the broader Jordanian economy.
