Under the Patronage of Tourism Minister, University of Jordan Hosts Dialogue on Transformations in the Tourism Labor Market

The Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism at the University of Jordan organized a dialogue entitled “The Tourism Labor Market and Its Transformations: The Role of University Education in Qualifying Human Resources,” under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Emad Hijazeen.

The event was attended by the Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Al-Edwan, along with experts, academics, and representatives from both the public and private sectors.

The dialogue aimed to discuss the changes in the tourism labor market and enhance the alignment of academic programs with the sector’s needs.

Dr. Hijazeen emphasized the importance of effective partnerships with universities in developing human resources.

The President of the University of Jordan, Dr. Nathir Obeidat, highlighted the necessity of keeping pace with technological transformations.

Dr. Ismail Abu Amoud, Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology and Tourism, noted that the dialogue reflects the importance of integration between higher education and the tourism sector.

The sessions addressed topics related to creating tourism experiences, digital transformation, and students’ readiness for the labor market.
